Submission Guidelines

Submissions must be original and unpublished as a whole.
If parts from the manuscript have been published in literary journals or anthologies, please let me know in the body of the email of your submission.

Submissions must be between 12-24 pages in length, and formatted in an easy to read, serif font, such as Garamond or Georgia.
Submissions that don’t fit into this page count will not be considered.

In order to submit, you must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
I’m hoping to be eligible for funding in the next few years! Sorry!
How to submit
Please send your poetry, fiction, non-fiction, or one-act plays as a PDF to brokepress@gmail.com & include a bit about yourself in your email!
Submission fee is required.
Submission fee is a sliding scale of $10-$25. Please send what you can afford. broke press is a one-woman operation with no government funding, so the submission fee helps keep the lights on! Send your submission fee as an e-transfer to brokepress@gmail.com
Please include your mailing address in the body of your email if you would like a broke press chapbook from the catalogue as a ‘thank you’ for submitting your work!
I aim to reply with the status of your submission by mid-March, but it may take me a bit longer!
If your manuscript is accepted, a $100 honorarium and 20% of the print run will be granted upon publication.
